Introducing Artistic Director Glen Mortimer
Glen comes from an acting background. It was in the mid nineties when he become known as a professional actor gaining featured parts in Emmerdale, At home with the Braithwaites, Coronation Street, Heartbeat, Last of the Summer Wine, The New Statesman and All creatures Great & Small to name a few. As well as numerous commercials, Glen’s Theatre experience is also vast with lead roles in Allo Allo, Rough Justice, Neville’s Island, Two, Oliver Twist & King Lear. “As a director it is always important to understand that any piece of acting is entertaining to the watching public. Acting is not performed to entertain ourselves, it’s done to entertain others and we should learn and rehearse as such. Actors come in many shapes and sizes and with varying degrees of experience, but the wisest of them realise that as an actor you never cease to learn. Many actors are comfortable in specific roles, it is the roles of characterisation that an actor is uncomfortable with (and every actor has them) that needs to be focused and worked upon. The more varied your acting ability, the more chances of your success”.
